Though each module is rated separately, Universal Tales is considered for mature players and has a certain amount of Controversy, Violence and Implied Intimacy. Though Universal Tales may appeal to younger persons; parents and guardians should always be aware of what their charges are doing and what games they are playing.
Presented in Universal Tales Cascadia (a module in the Earth Fall campaign environment), Galaxy Frontiers adopted this media maturity rating system. The use of this rating system allows for greater understanding in nearly the same amount of notations presented by other means.
As with all things, parents and guardians are responsible for handling the restrictions with their children.
GY: ~ General Youthful ~ Highly restrained content for immature youth, having no presentation of aspects that would be objectionable to 90% of the population; and excludes any displaying or implication of intimacy, nudity, language, violence or controversy.
GD: ~ General Documentary ~ An informative work having no elements that 70% of the population should find objectionable or controversial.
GM: ~ General Mature ~ The art-media contents has no content that 85% of the population should view as objectionable. There may some mild spoken vulgarity, as well as some non-vulgar exposing attire or brief/modest nudity, nursing, light public affection found in open societies, relating to natural aspects of people. See Vulgar Behavior in the Criminal Acts entry of the Legal Affairs section.
YM#-**: ~ Young Maturity ~ This rating indicates suitable material for maturing adolescence. Those under 12 years of age would have to be accompanied by parents/guardians. Such material shall not possess more than brief/implied violence, modest vulgar language. brief implied sensual/affectionate situations, brief unclad moments, controversial cultural implications or bullying.
MA#-**: ~ Mature Audience ~ Media material having this rating contain aspects large portions of the population (80%) may view as objectionable (e.g.; MA3-LVSN has around 30% content of Language, Violence, Sensual Pleasures and Nudity that large segments of the population might be bothered about for those who are immature). Those below the Age of Commitment/Maturity would be monitored by parent/guardian who have achieved the Age of Commitment/Maturity.
MD#-**: ~ Documentary Mature ~ This rating is for more mature documentaries and information material. A notation of MD3-LV would indicate the documentary would have language and violence, and may be attached to material discussing military conflicts. Has the same viewing restriction as MA#.
MR#-**: ~ Mature Restricted ~ The media contents having the “Restricted” nomenclature could be more disturbing to a greater population (generally over 80%) and should be considered before viewing.
MX#-**: ~ Mature Explicit ~ The contents of material having this rating are considered very “Explicit” to most people (90%) and would be disturbing to many mature audience, even more so than MR.

The “#” associated with MA, MD, MR and MX is the general amount of the content, 11-99 with the 2 digits of the number considered separately, creating a high and low range. Each digits (say 7 and 2 of MA72) would be approximately 10% volume or less as related to the full body of work (7 being 70% and 2 at 20%). A video rated MD11-W would be a nature - wilderness documentary having up to 10% of the material having scene of hunting and mating, “2” for 20%, and so on, with MR99 for around 90% or entire work. The range loosely relates to the BCILNSVW notations added, each person would have a reasonable notion of what to expect.
The first number of the 2 digits would always be higher or equal to the second number (say MA32-IL for 30% to 20% of the work having Implied Intimacy and vulgar Language). The letter sequences would be in series, showing the highest volume first to the least at the end. MA62-VLN would have 60% of the work having some form of Violence with only 20% having Nudity, the Language would fall somewhere in between.
The “**” lettering are for additional rating element to indicate the nature of the possible disturbing content, and are adopted from past references. With the additional nomenclatures are “B” (Bullying and forms of harassment); “C” (Controversial views, customs or cultural practices that may be conflictive or contrary or to the social expectation of some people); “I” (Implied Intimacy), “L” (vulgar Language), “N” (Nudity), “S” (Sexual Situations), or “V” (Violent); or “W” (Wilderness matters, including hunting and mating). The placement from left to right of these notations indicate the comparative amount, with the greater position on the left. Say, a film rated as MR74-NSCLV would have nudity for some 70%-40% of the work (erotica), with intimacy/sexual content somewhat at or less than that volume, followed by elements some may find controversial and conflictive to their customs, spoken vulgarity and violence.
